Problem:

I just got a new computer and I want to transfer Acclaim over to it. How difficult is this? Is there something I need to do first?

Solution:

Transferring Paymate from one computer to another is fairly easy.  The directions to follow are listed below.

1.  Install Paymate Acclaim

2. Moving .CPY folder 

The .CPY folder is where your company information is stored. Typically it will be with the following format: YourCompanyName.CPY

  1. Now that you have installed the program on your new computer and it is up and running, you go to the old computer and Copy only the .CPY folder under PAYMATEW folder.
  2. Paste the .CPY to the new computer under PAYMATEW folder.

3. Connect to the company and Check company data

  1. Once .CPY folder is transferred, connect to the company and run Integrity check to verify your data. From top menu Go to Utilities > Integrity Check

    If the user want to restore the G/L setup in the new location then copy the PMWOWNER.SBF and PMWVER.DBF from the old location to the new location (overwrite files)
