Job Cost Interface

Clarity has the capability to export your payroll data to your general ledger software. There are presently two different interfaces available in the Paymate software.

Job Cost Software: ADAGIO

Clarity can export data to different versions of ADAGIO software. In order to setup Clarity to export data to ADAGIO you should follow these steps.

Step1- Choosing the Interface

The first step to export data from Paymate to your Job Cost software is to choose the right interface. In order to do make the correct selection for the interface do the following

1)     Go to Setup>Preferences>Interfaces

2)     Choose the Correct Interface

a.     Adagio

b.     Adagio ver 6.8

This interface works with Adagio Job Cost version 6.8B and higher.

3)     Click on       save the changes you have done.

4)     And close the window

Step2- Setting Up Job Centers & Cost Centers Codes

To define the jobs in Clarity, go to Setup>Job cost>Job centres and enter the same code that you have in Adagio. And to define the Phases and Categories in Clarity, go to Setup>Job cost>Cost centres and enter the same code that you have in Adagio. Please note that Cost Centre has two segments. The first segment is for Phase code and the second segment is for Category code.

Step3- Exporting to Job Cost software

To setup the export file parameters, go to Setup>Job cost>Job cost export interfaces . Find the record for ADAGIO8b and go to “Export parameters” tab and change the parameters to what you want to see in the exported file. Save the changes and close the form.

The file name should be PRAJBTCH.xxx, where xxx is your Adagio data extension. The location of the file should be where your Adagio company data is located. For example, if the Adagio data extension is DAT and job cost data is located in C:\SOFTRAK\DATA the export file name should be defined as: C:\SOFTRAK\DATA\PRAJBTCH.DAT

Click on export to create the file.

Step3- Importing Data in A DAGIO

When you go to Adagio, you will get a message, informing you that there is a batch to retrieve. You can go ahead and retrieve the data right away or you can skip the retrieve and process the batch later on. To retrieve the file in Adagio, you can go to “Maintenance”, “Retrieve Batches” and select “Payroll transactions”

Path to Job Cost interfaces is now:

Configuration > Interfaces > Job Cost Export Interfaces

Additionally, Job Cost entries must be imported FIRST in Adagio, then you can move them to GL.
