Our support team does suggests against setting up the Clarity database in this manner. If not managed properly there could be potential for problems which is why we don’t support this method and we assume no responsibility should things go wrong,  however I have included the information you requested below as supplied by our support team.

 

We suggest you don’t create a clarity user using SQL server management studio.  

We recommend you use clarity and go to configuration -> security -> user to create the user

However here are steps

  1. install clarity on computer where you install sql server and go to c:\program files \ clarity and open clarity.config file with notepad and change FirstTimeRun=True , save and close this file
  2. open clarity and this will ask you for ‘sa’ password. Here user can enter password which they setup during their SQL instance install.
